This Warranty Policy explains the coverage provided for our reusable instruments.
Limited Warranty
Surgix Instruments warrants that its reusable instruments are free from defects in materials and workmanship at the time of delivery.
If a manufacturing defect is identified during the applicable warranty period, and the product has been used and maintained in accordance with accepted professional practices and our care instructions, we will, at our discretion:
- Repair the instrument
- Replace the instrument with an equivalent product
- Provide an appropriate credit or refund where repair or replacement is not practical
This warranty applies only to the original purchaser unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Warranty Period
Unless otherwise stated in writing, our standard warranty for reusable instruments is:
- 12 months from the date of delivery against defects in materials and workmanship.
Some products or customer agreements may include different warranty terms. Any alternative warranty period will be confirmed in writing at the time of purchase.
What Is Covered?
Subject to the terms of this policy, the warranty covers manufacturing defects such as:
- Defects in materials
- Manufacturing faults
- Assembly defects
- Faulty joints or hinges caused by manufacturing
- Functional defects present under normal professional use
- Defects identified despite proper cleaning, sterilisation, handling, and maintenance
Each warranty claim is assessed individually by our technical team.
What Is Not Covered?
This warranty does not cover damage or defects resulting from:
- Normal wear and tear
- Routine sharpening
- Routine servicing or maintenance
- Improper use or misuse
- Accidental damage
- Dropping or impact
- Incorrect cleaning or sterilisation procedures
- Use of unsuitable cleaning chemicals
- Corrosion caused by improper care or storage
- Failure to follow accepted instrument care guidelines
- Alteration, modification, or repair by unauthorised persons
- Cosmetic wear that does not affect function
- Damage occurring during transport after delivery
- Use beyond the intended purpose of the instrument
Instrument Care
Proper maintenance is essential to maximise the lifespan of reusable surgical instruments.
Users should:
- Clean instruments promptly after use
- Follow validated cleaning and sterilisation procedures
- Inspect instruments before each use
- Lubricate hinged instruments where appropriate
- Store instruments in clean, dry conditions
- Remove damaged instruments from service until inspected
Failure to maintain instruments correctly may invalidate the warranty.
Warranty Claims
To make a warranty claim, please contact our Customer Service team with:
- Proof of purchase
- Product name or reference number
- Description of the issue
- Photographs or videos showing the defect (where possible)
- Batch or lot number, if available
Our technical team may request that the instrument is returned for inspection before a warranty decision is made.
Inspection Process
All returned instruments are inspected by qualified personnel to determine whether the issue results from:
- A manufacturing defect
- Normal wear
- Incorrect maintenance
- Accidental damage
- Improper use
Following inspection, we will advise the outcome and, where applicable, arrange repair, replacement, or another appropriate remedy.
Limitation of Warranty
This warranty is limited to the repair, replacement, credit, or refund of the affected product.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Surgix Instruments shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of its products.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Professional Use
Our reusable instruments are intended for use by trained healthcare professionals or qualified users in accordance with recognised professional standards and applicable regulations.
Users are responsible for ensuring instruments are suitable for their intended application and are used safely and correctly.
